BOBBLEGLUT: Wildly Unpopular Gov. Chris Christie Bobblehead Dolls Available at Deep Discount ByΒ hNOW
TheΒ National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and MuseumΒ (yes, this exists) announced today that theirΒ Chris Christie bobbleheadsΒ are now on sale for $13βa price-point chosen to match the percentage of New Jersey residents who have a favorable opinion of our outgoing Governor.
These dolls were originally part of theΒ 2016 Presidential Series, which featured the presumptive Democratic and Republican nominees. Alas,Β we all know how that turned out.
The most recentΒ Rutgers-Eagleton PollΒ measures Christieβs approval rating at only 13%. With just under 200 of the 500 bobbleheads sold at the original price of $20.16, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is looking to unload the glut of Christieβs likeness from their inventory, before they become completely irrelevant.
The design is an uncharacteristically jubilant image of our governorβperhaps capturing those rare candid moments after he had justΒ verbally bashed a school teacher, signed off onΒ development of a state park,Β scuttled a regional transit planΒ orΒ spent a nice afternoon on the beach with his family.
According to a statement from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, βWith Christieβs time in office coming to an end, we thought now would be a great time to clear out the rest of the bobbleheads. His approval rating made for a pretty good sale price, so we went with it.β
The Chris Christie bobbleheads were shipped from the factory with a blank mini yard sign and two sets of stickers. The first set of stickers is for βTrump-Christie 2016β while the second set is a generic βChris Christieβ version.
βWhether youβre one of the people who approved of Christie or someone looking for a great gag gift, we hope these donβt last long at the sale price! Maybe a bobblehead of Christie on a bridge or at the beach would have gone over better, but we decided not to take the risk after our experience with this one.β
