MILWAUKEE – Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a new bobblehead of Amy Acton, who was elected the 71st governor of Ohio on Tuesday, November 3rd. With her victory over Republican entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Acton became Ohio’s first elected female governor and first Jewish governor. The Amy Acton bobblehead is being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum and is part of a new series featuring some of the most requested political bobbleheads related to the 2026 Midterm elections and the upcoming 2028 elections.
Standing on a circular red, white, and blue, stars and stripes base bearing her name, the smiling Acton bobblehead is wearing a dark blue suit with a white blouse and her hands clasped in front. Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,026 and they are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in April, are $30 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. During the COVID pandemic, a bobblehead of Dr. Acton was released and has since sold out.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, the 60-year-old Acton earned a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University, a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University, and a Master of Public Health degree from Ohio State University. Acton served as the director of the Ohio Department of Health from 2019 to 2020, in which capacity she led Ohio’s COVID-19 pandemic response. She gained national visibility for her calm, transparent, and empathetic daily televised briefings during the spring of 2020. Acton received the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation Profile in Courage Award in 2021 and was named USA Today’s Ohio Woman of the Year in 2022.
Before and immediately after serving as director of the Ohio Department of Health, she worked at the Columbus Foundation until she left the foundation upon announcing her candidacy in the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial election. Republican incumbent governor Mike DeWine was ineligible to seek a third consecutive term. Centering her campaign on healthcare costs, reproductive freedom, and economic relief, Acton ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination. Acton is the first Democrat to win a gubernatorial election in Ohio since 2006. Acton will be inaugurated on January 11th, 2027.
Acton defeated Ramaswamy by nearly eight percentage points, according to unofficial results. Her victory ended 16 years of Republican control of the governor’s office, even though Ramaswamy and his allies spent more than $100 million on advertising in the historically expensive race. Acton, a physician who had never held elected office, campaigned on affordability, public education, and health care.
“We are excited to unveil this bobblehead of newly elected Ohio Governor Amy Acton to commemorate her victory,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead is sure to be popular among Governor Acton supporters and people who follow politics.”
