Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a pair of very special, first-of-their-kind Texas Tech Red Raiders Football and Basketball Top 25 Ranking Tracker Bobbleheads. Texas Techโ€™s football team is currently ranked #7 in both the AP Top 25 and AFCA Coaches Poll while the basketball team is currently ranked #20 in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll.

The unique bobbleheads featuring Texas Techโ€™s beloved mascot, Raider Red, will let fans change Texas Techโ€™s ranking each week for many seasons to come. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Texas Tech University.

  • The bobbleheads are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museumโ€™s Online Store at this link.
  • The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in May, are $40 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
  • Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to 2,025.
  • Standing on a football field base and a basketball court base, the Raider Red bobbleheads are positioned on a numbered block that can be adjusted when Texas Techโ€™s ranking changes each week.
  • Prior to the 1971 season, the Southwest Conference passed a rule that prevented members of the conference from taking live animals to non-home games unless the host team had no objections. So Jim Gaspard, a member of the Saddle Tramps, created Raider Red from a drawing by the late Lubbock cartoonist Dirk West as an alternative to the Masked Rider. Raider Red fires his two 12-gauge shotguns using powder-filled shells after every Tech touchdown and field goal.
  • “Weโ€™re excited to add Texas Tech to our Top 25 Ranking Bobblehead Series which has been very popular with college football and basketball fans across the country for the schools that weโ€™ve introduced so far,โ€ National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. โ€œThese bobbleheads will be the perfect way for Red Raider fans to track the teamโ€™s ranking each week for many seasons to come and a great way for fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride all year long!โ€
  • The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
