From NJ.com – Popularity contests aren’t just for high school. They’re for the big leagues, too.
The Yankees are running a contest online through Wednesday—that’s today!—to see which two players will receive bobbleheads in 2016.
The top two vote getters among reliever Dellin Betances, shortstop Didi Gregorius, and catcher Brian McCann will be awarded the honor.
Each has a good case. Betances might be the best right-handed reliever in the American League. Gregorius was the second-best AL shortstop last season, as measured by defensive efficiency. And McCann slugged 26 home runs last year and won a Silver Slugger.
