Wildcard Sunday is also National Bobblehead Day By Erik Sommers

If you’re like me, you’ll agree that bobbleheads are some of the coolest sports memorabilia items out there. They represent a great way to combine artistic skill and fandom into one package, and give it a little life. Recently, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame sent me a sampling of some of their available bobbleheads, each representing current Carolina Panthersin either their pro or college uniforms. Have a look:
Here is a picture of how they arrived in packaging…

They sent me Christian McCaffrey in his Stanford uniform, Luke Kuechly in his Boston College uniform, and Cam Newton doing the dab in good ole Panthers colors. Each of the figures is quite large, about as tall as your average plastic water bottle, and made of very heavy rubber. The bases are even heavier, ensuring that the figures will stand up easily without moving too much when you tap them to make their heads bobble.

Another thing to note is that each one is individually licensed in a series. For example, the Cam Newton one is licensed as 1 of 504 made. They are also officially licensed by the NFL, the NFLPA, and the NCAA where applicable.

I am impressed by the quality of each of these, they are very substantial and should hold up for a long long time. The Cam one is great, they really nailed the face, and the bobblehead is perfect for the dab. They also did a really good job with Luke’s face as well. In my opinion, the Christian McCaffrey one is a little off, but he has changed his look quite a bit across his career at Stanford and into the NFL.
