This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a first-of-its-kind Ohio State Buckeyes Football Top 25 Ranking Tracker Bobblehead ahead of #1 ranked Ohio State’s game against Penn State on Saturday in Columbus. The Ohio State Buckeyes are currently ranked #1 in both the AP Top 25 Football Poll and the AFCA Coaches Poll with a perfect 7-0 start to the 2025 season following last season’s National Championship.

The unique bobblehead featuring Ohio State’s beloved mascot, Brutus Buckeye, will let fans change Ohio State’s ranking each week for many seasons to come. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of The Ohio State University.

  • The bobbleheads are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link.
  • The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in January, are $40 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
  • Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to 2,025.
  • Standing on a football field base, the Brutus Buckeye bobblehead is positioned on a numbered block that can be adjusted when Ohio State’s ranking changes. Brutus Buckeye is also holding a football adorned with the Ohio State logo.
  • With his buckeye head and block O hat, the Ohio State mascot made its debut during the school’s homecoming football game against Minnesota on October 30th, 1965. Less than a month later, it was reported that judges picked Brutus Buckeye to be the new mascot’s name after a campus-wide “Name the Buckeye” contest. Ohio State student Kerry J. Reed was credited with the winning name and the student organization, Block O, agreed to care for Brutus. Inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2007, Brutus, who wears the hat from legendary coach Woody Hayes’ first game at Ohio State, appears at more than 500 sporting and non-sporting events each year. According to the Ohio State website, Brutus “enjoys hanging amongst the trees in Buckeye Grove and visiting his abundance of cousins scattered all throughout the state.”
  • Ohio State started the season ranked #3 in the AP Top 25 and #2 in the AFCA Coaches Poll but moved up to the #1 spot in both polls after beating pre-season #1 Texas by a score of 14-7 in the season opener in Columbus. Since then, Ohio State has remained undefeated going into this week’s game against Penn State with a perfect 7-0 record.
  • “We’re excited to add Ohio State to our Top 25 Ranking Bobblehead Series which has been very popular with college football fans across the country,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Buckeyes fans to track the team’s ranking each week for many seasons to come and a great way for fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride all year long!”
  • The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
