Today, to celebrate Nebraska’s first win in the Men’s Basketball NCAA Tournament, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed Nebraska Cornhuskers Basketball First Tournament Win Bobblehead. On Thursday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers men’s basketball program shed decades of March Madness heartbreak, picking up the first NCAA Tournament victory in school history with a dominant 76-47 win over Troy in Oklahoma City. The bobblehead is officially licensed by the University of Nebraska.
- The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in September, are now available at this link.
- Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to only 2,026.
- The bobblehead features Nebraska’s mascot, Herbie Husker, standing on a basketball court base with a scoreboard behind him that proclaims: “Madness in Lincoln! Cornhuskers Win First Tournament Game! March 19, 2026”.
- On March 19, 2026, the Nebraska Cornhuskers men’s basketball program shed decades of March Madness heartbreak, picking up the first NCAA Tournament victory in school history with a dominant 76-47 win over Troy in Oklahoma City.
- The fourth-seeded Huskers entered the tournament as the only school from a power conference without a tournament win, carrying an 0-8 all-time record in March Madness. Paycom Center, filled with boisterous red-clad fans who had made the roughly six-hour drive from Lincoln, erupted with chants of “Husker Power!” and “Go Big Red!” throughout the game. With the victory, Nebraska improved to 27-6 on the season, setting a new school record for single-season wins, and for a fan base that had waited 40 years and nine tournament appearances for this moment, it was nothing short of history.
- Unranked in the preseason national polls going into the 2025-26 season, the Nebraska men’s basketball team cracked the Top 25 in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll in Week 6. Prior to its 2025-26 poll debut, the Huskers had not been ranked in the AP Top 25 since the 2018-19 season. The Huskers moved into the Top 10 in the AP Poll in Week 10. It marked the first time that Nebraska had been ranked in the top 10 since a No. 9 ranking on February 28th, 1966. With their 20-0 start, the Huskers shattered the previous record of 10-0 set in the 1977-78 season.
- Nebraska will now take on the fifth-seeded Vanderbilt Commodores in Oklahoma City at 7:45pm with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
- “We’re excited to unveil this bobblehead commemorating Nebraska’s first tournament win,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “March is such an exciting time of the year and this bobblehead will be the ultimate way for Huskers fans to celebrate this historic moment.”
- Earlier this season, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled two officially licensed, limited-edition Nebraska Cornhuskers Basketball Bobbleheads. The first bobblehead is part of the Ranking Tracker Bobblehead Series and features Herbie positioned on a numbered block that can be adjusted when Nebraska’s ranking changes, while the second bobblehead features Herbie balancing a basketball on his finger.
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
