Bobblehead commemorating Loyola Chicago’s 2017-2018 season and featuring mascot, LU Wolf, now available for pre-order in the National Bobblehead HOF and Museum Online Store.
Milwaukee, WI – April 26, 2018 – This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the rendering for a limited edition bobblehead commemorating the team’s 2017-2018 season. The bobblehead features Loyola’s mascot, LU Wolf, standing on a stack of newspapers with the front-page exclaiming “Loyola Rambles on to San Antonio! One of College Basketball’s Last 4 Standing”. LU Wolf is holding the sports page, which features a picture of celebrating Rambler fans and the headline “FOUR REAL”.
The bobbleheads are available for pre-order in the Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store and cost $35 each plus a flat rate shipping charge of $8 per order. Each bobblehead will be individually numbered and come in a collector’s box. They are scheduled to arrive in July.
Loyola University Chicago captivated the nation with a series of heart-stopping wins in the NCAA Tournament. The Ramblers, who were the 11 seed in the South Region, upset Miami (Fla.) on a buzzer beater in the first round before stunning Tennessee with just seconds left on the clock to reach the Sweet 16. Loyola then beat Nevada by a point in the Sweet 16 before punching their ticket to the Final Four in San Antonio, Texas, with a convincing win over Kansas State. Loyola’s Cinderella run came to an end in the National Semifinal game when they fell to Michigan.
This is the second Loyola Chicago bobblehead released by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in just over a month. On March 23rd, the Hall of Fame and Museum released an officially licensed bobblehead featuring Sister Jean, the 98-year-old team chaplain who was thrust into the spotlight with Loyola’s unbelievable run in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The Sister Jean bobbleheads, which became the best-selling sports bobblehead ever produced, are currently in production and expected to ship in June. The bobbleheads are being individually numbered to 18,980 (18 for the 2018 season and 98 for Sister Jean’s age), and a limited number remain available for pre-order.
“Loyola Chicago’s Final Four run will always be remembered as one of the best college basketball stories, and this bobblehead is the perfect way for Rambler fans to commemorate the team’s amazing season,” said Phil Sklar, Co-Founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. “With the success of the Sister Jean bobbleheads, we knew that a bobblehead of LU Wolf celebrating Loyola’s unbelievable season would be a great addition to the Loyola bobblehead collection!”
The bobbleheads, which are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, are officially licensed by Loyola University Chicago.
