This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs Football Rivalry ahead of Saturday’s rivalry game. The limited edition bobblehead features Florida’s mascot Albert and Georgia’s mascot Hairy Dawg on a football field base. The bobblehead is being released in conjunction with the renewal of the heated rivalry on Saturday in Jacksonville. The bobblehead is now available exclusively from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of the University of Florida and the University of Georgia.
- The bobbleheads are now available exclusively in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link.
- The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in April, are $50 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
- Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to 2,025.
- The bobblehead is being released in conjunction with the renewal of the rivalry between the teams on Saturday, November 1st in Jacksonville, Florida. The teams have faced off on the gridiron in Jacksonville for the majority of the series, but it will shift to Atlanta in 2026 and Tampa in 2027 before returning to Jacksonville from 2028 through 2031.
- Standing side-by-side on a football field base that reads “GATORS” in one end zone and “BULLDOGS” in the other end zone, Florida’s mascot, Albert, and Georgia’s mascot, Hairy Dawg, are wearing their respective school colors while giving the No. 1 signal and holding a football adorned with their school logo.
- One of the most prominent rivalry games in college football, the two universities do not agree on when the rivalry began. Georgia contends the first meeting was in 1904, while Florida said it was 1915, since the team that played in 1904 was from the Florida Agricultural College based in Lake City. The Florida Legislature established the University of Florida the following year and the football team was officially established in 1906.
- Nevertheless, the Bulldogs, who have won the last four matchups, lead the tightly contested all-time series, 56-44-2 according to Georgia and 57-44-2 according to Florida. Since 1933, the big game has been held in Jacksonville, Florida with only two exceptions, making it one of the few remaining neutral-site rivalries in college football.
- “We’re excited to unveil this bobblehead commemorating the Florida vs. Georgia Football Rivalry ahead of Saturday’s game in Jacksonville,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Florida and Georgia fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride!”
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
