The Lindenwood football team will host Missouri Western this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Hunter Stadium. The first 500 fans at the game will receive a Pierre Desir Bobblehead, courtesy of Pundmann Ford.
Desir is one of the most talented players to come out of the Lindenwood football program. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the first Lion to be selected in the NFL Draft.
Desir played for the Lions for two seasons in 2012 and 2013. He earned two All-American awards and was the 2013 winner of the Cliff Harris Award, which is given to the top defensive player in NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. He set numerous firsts for Lindenwood players including playing in the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl, and earning an invitation to the NFL Combine.
Desir recorded 13 interceptions and 17 pass breakups in his two season at Lindenwood. He also recorded 93 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. His career interception total at Lindenwood is second all-time, and he set a Lindenwood single-season interception record with nine in 2012.
In his four-year career, Desir recorded 25 interceptions and 27 pass breakups. He is second in MIAA history in career interceptions. Desir was a four-time all-MIAA selection, including three first-team honors, and he was an All-American for three of his four seasons.
The first 500 fans at Thursday’s game will receive a voucher for the bobblehead. The voucher can then be redeemed outside of Hunter Stadium towards the conclusion of the game.
