This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed Iowa Hawkeyes Bobblehead commemorating the school’s baseball game on Saturday against the Kansas Jayhawks at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. The bobblehead features Iowa’s mascot Herky the Hawk in the team’s baseball uniform in front of a cornfield. The special edition bobblehead is being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of the University of Iowa.

  • The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in April, are now available at this link.
  • Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to only 2,026.
  • The bobbleheads are $40 each plus an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order.
  • Standing on an oval base with “IOWA HAWKEYES” across the front, the Herky bobblehead is wearing a No. 1 gold Iowa baseball jersey, white pants, and black and gold shoes. He is holding a bat on his right shoulder while standing in front of stalks of corn.
  • On Saturday, October 10th, the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, 15-10, in a scheduled 16-inning exhibition game at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. It was the first NCAA Division I baseball game played at the newly constructed ballpark, which is home to the Dyersville Dreamers of the Northwoods League. The venue also plays host to the yearly “MLB at Field of Dreams” event, which saw the Philadelphia Phillies defeat the Minnesota Twins in 2026. The Iowa-Kansas game attracted a sellout crowd of more than 5,000 fans. Myles Davis led the Hawkeyes with six RBI, hitting a grand slam and a two-run triple. Jaixen Frost went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI, while Sawyer Stein went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
  • The aura around the Field of Dreams stems from the 1989 film starring Kevin Costner, Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones and Amy Madigan. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1990 and was selected to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 2017. The 1989 film, adapted from W.P. Kinsella’s 1982 novel “Shoeless Joe,” tell the story of Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella, a husband and father who is tending to his cornfield when he hears a mysterious voice intone, “If you build it, he will come.” The field that the Iowa-Kansas game was played on is approximately 500 feet from the original field constructed for the movie.
  • “We’re excited to unveil this bobblehead of Herky the Hawk as a tribute to the first Division I college baseball game played at the Field of Dreams,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “Given the popularity of Dyersville’s connection to baseball, this bobblehead is a must-have for fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes!”
  • The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
