MILWAUKEE – Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a limited edition Mayonesa Bobblehead featuring the Dallas raccoon who recently became a viral social media sensation after getting her head stuck in a mayonnaise jar. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum will be donating $1,000 to Dallas Animal Services for every 1,000 Mayonesa bobbleheads sold. The special edition bobblehead is being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

Standing on a rectangular, grass-like textured base bearing her name, the Mayonesa bobblehead is a replica of the popular gray-furred and stripe-tailed raccoon with a mayonnaise jar on the raccoon’s bobbling head. The Mayonesa bobblehead is in a running pose as she is peering through the glass jar, eyeing her next adventure in “Big D.” The bobbleheads, which will be individually numbered, are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. Expected to ship in January, the bobbleheads cost $30 each, plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.

After several sightings by concerned residents and failed rescue attempts, the elusive raccoon was spotted in a tree near an abandoned house by Dallas Animal Services officers on Monday, August 3rd. With a mayonnaise jar stuck on her head, the raccoon, affectionately dubbed Mayonesa, was easy to spot. Once Mayonesa climbed down from the tree, DAS officers carefully approached her from behind and were able to capture her. Mayonesa was lightly sedated and given fluid and medications before being freed from the jar. Animal officers said besides dehydration Mayonesa was in “remarkably good condition and full of energy” after going without food and water for a few days. Mayonesa is receiving short-term care from Texas Metro Wildlife before being released back into the wild.

“We’re excited to unveil the first bobblehead of Mayonesa, Dallas’ favorite rascally raccoon,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for fans of Mayonesa to show off their support for the lovable troublemaker and celebrate her rescue from a sticky situation.”
