This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first bobblehead of Pudge the Cat, the unofficial mascot of the Bowling Green Falcons football team. The officially licensed, limited-edition bobblehead features the beloved 4-year-old exotic shorthair Persian cat wearing an orange and brown Bowling Green jersey. The bobblehead is being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Bowling Green State University and in conjunction with Pudge’s owner George Carlson, who is the team’s long snapper.
- The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in March, are now available at this link.
- Each bobblehead is individually numbered to only 2,025.
- The bobbleheads are $35 each plus an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order.
- Sitting on a football field-like base bearing his name, the Pudge the Cat bobblehead is a replica of the 4-year-old exotic shorthair Persian owned by the team’s long snapper George Carlson. The orange cat represents half of the university’s official colors. “Orange eyes, orange fur, he’s the theme,” Carlson said in an interview. “It’s kind of funny how that worked out.”
- The Bowling Green football team kicked off the 2025 season on a high note with a 26-7 victory over Lafayette on Thursday, August 28th at Doyt Perry Stadium. While first-year head coach Eddie George won his first game at BGSU, the former NFL star running back wasn’t the only cool cat on the Falcons’ sideline. Pudge, an exotic shorthair Persian belonging to long snapper George Carlson, went viral in his sideline debut. Wearing an orange and brown jersey, his night included a cameo on ESPN.
- Prior to the season opener, Pudge became a social media sensation when a video was posted on TikTok that showed the feline inside the locker room at the Sebo Athletic Center. Since then, the big orange cat has racked up the shares and likes across multiple platforms and gotten shoutouts on the likes of “Good Morning America.” In addition to the TikTok video, Pudge has his own page on Instagram (unclepudgy) and wears his own jersey when inside the locker room. Through an NIL deal, T-shirts featuring a cartoon caricature of Pudge wearing a BG helmet are being sold.
- “We’re excited to unveil the first bobblehead of Pudge the Cat – the unofficial mascot of the 2025 Bowling Green Falcons football team,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “We know how much Bowling Green and college football fans have loved Pudge this season, and this bobblehead will give fans the chance to have their own mini Pudge!”
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
