MILWAUKEE – This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a Lionel Trains® Bobblehead Collection to celebrate the iconic American toy train brand’s 125th Anniversary. The four limited-edition bobbleheads feature Lionel’s long-time mascot, Lenny. The first officially licensed Lenny bobbleheads are being released in conjunction with Lionel Trains celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2025. The bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Lionel Trains LLC.
Known for wearing his trademark blue and white striped overalls and engineer’s hat with an orange L on the front, four Lenny the Lion bobbleheads are available. Lenny the Lion arrived on the scene as Lionel’s mascot in 1991 in celebration of the company’s 91st year in operation. He is named in honor of Lenny Dean, a longtime employee and well-known figure in the toy train hobby. Dean, who was also known as “Mr. Lionel” and “Goodwill Ambassador,” had a career that spanned over six decades, starting from the assembly line and culminating in his role as a spokesperson and diplomat.
Standing on a blue circular base bearing his name and the Lionel logo, the first bobblehead is of vintage Lenny, who is wearing a yellow bandana and holding a toy locomotive. The second bobblehead features current Lenny, who is standing on an orange circular base bearing his name and the Lionel logo. Two 125th anniversary bobbleheads featuring Lenny in a tuxedo and top hat are also available. Standing on a black rectangular base bearing his name, one bobblehead has Lenny leaning on the numbers 125. Standing on a black circular base bearing his name and the Lionel 125th anniversary logo, the second bobblehead has Lenny extending his arms in celebration.
The bobbleheads, which are individually numbered to 2,025, are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. Expected to ship in January, the bobbleheads cost $35 each for the three Lenny Bobbleheads and $40 for the Lenny 125th Anniversary Sign Bobblehead, plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. A set of four is available for $140.
Founded in 1900, Lionel has been a leader in the model train industry for over 125 years. With a legacy built on craftsmanship, innovation, and imagination, Lionel continues to inspire hobbyists of all ages with products that bring joy to collectors and families alike.
