Proceeds from Chicago Super Fan Bobbleheads Going to Northern Illinois Tornado Fund

$2 from every Ronnie Woo Woo and Soxman bobblehead sold this week going to United Way Northern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund for tornado victims.

Milwaukee, WI – April 13, 2015 – Today the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum announced that $2 from every Ronnie Woo Woo and Soxman bobblehead sold this week will go directly to the United Way Northern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund. Beginning immediately, and running through Friday, April 17th, the proceeds from every bobblehead sold will go to help victims of the tornado that ravaged the Rochelle and Fairdale, Illinois communities.
Bobbleheads can be purchased online at dev.bobbleheadhall.com/shop or by calling the Hall of Fame and Museum at 800-414-1482.
“The tornado hit very close to our hometown of Rockford, and we immediately began discussing ways that we could help.” said Phil Sklar, Co-Founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. “We realized that the bobbleheads that we created of the two Chicago Super Fans could help raise funds for those devastated by the tornado.”
Each bobblehead is limited to only 5,000, with the Ronnie Woo Woo bobblehead released late in 2014 and the Soxman bobblehead released in early 2015. If the remaining bobbleheads are sold, a donation of approximately $15,000 will be made to the Northern Illinois Disaster Relief Fund. This donation will be in addition to the existing charity component for each bobblehead. One dollar from the sale of each Ronnie Woo Woo bobblehead goes to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and one dollar from each Soxman bobblehead sold goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“We hope that the sales of these bobbleheads can made a meaningful impact as the Northern Illinois region recovers from this natural disaster.” said Brad Novak, Co-Founder and President of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
